I've used a few different types of software to allow screen sharing, UltraVNC being one of the best. Still, even with that, you would have to do some dynamic dns, magic router gymnastics to get it to work right. Add a firewall to the mix, forget about it.Enter crossloop.
A buddy of mine told me about this today. And I kid you not it took about 2 and a half minutes, to download and install it on two separate computers, set it up to host from my laptop, and then set it up to view from my desktop, and then IM my buddy on skype over the connection to tell him how sweet it was.
